Welcome to 2015!! Our exciting new season gets underway in the familiar surroundings of Okayama International Circuit in Japan. In the Skippy, the wide variety of corners in this 2.3 miles of smooth asphalt is an enjoyable challenge for drivers at all levels. A lap begins with two long wide corners, right then left. Even if you're starting out and the car feels a handful, be sure to focus at first on finding the best line through these wide corners. For those looking to post 'Fast' lap times this week, you'll find a lot of time is locked away in the long decelerating phase of each of these turns. Fast laps will be achieved with a smooth transition from trailing brake to throttle, followed by a period of good throttle control to maintain car balance and line whilst your speed gradually decreases towards the corner apex. Turn 2 is followed by a twisty run through turn 3 - a lot of fun when side by side apprehensively approaching Turn 4! However, in such situations don't forget that your exit off T4 is going to be important for generating as much speed as possible for the long back straight. Turn 5, a downhill hairpin, is the slowest corner on the track and leads to the trickiest section; turn 6 is a 90-degree corner where the negative camber will spin you out if you're not prepared. Make sure to use a little bit of throttle through this turn to keep the car settled. Turn 7 is slightly uphill, again with an unusual camber to make finding the right line more difficult, and leads onto a short straight. After using the curbing on the inside of turn 8, the exit should be compromised to ensure a quick exit from turn 9. However, there are a variety of lines which work reasonably well linking these turns, so this area of the track can yield some exciting racing. Turn 10, the enigmatically named 'Mike Knight Corner', is a fast right hander with a blind entry, where a slight lift is needed to complete the turn. The 'Last Corner' is a medium speed right hand turn, where you will be seeking to use the curbing at both apex and corner exit, at full throttle, to carry as much speed as possible down towards the start/finish line and turn 1.

Setup Help
If you are having trouble getting a grasp on the car, please feel free to download and use the setup at the bottom of this post (not yet available - will be added soon). The values of this setup are those recommended in Glenn Chalder's setup guide. When you're in the garage inside the sim, you can click on the notes tab and you'll see a very brief guide on what to expect when you change a certain setting. It is still recommended that you read the setup guide if you're new to tweaking setups (link below). In order to use this setup, download the setup file to "...\My Documents\iRacing\setups\rt2000". Others are encouraged to share their own setups so that there is a variety of setups for new drivers to try out.

Ci siamo, inizia quello che reputo uno tra i champ più competitivi, difficili e ambiti, lo "Skip Barber Race Series"



I piloti da tutto il mondo giungono qui con il coltello trà i denti per sfidarsi con quest'auto :



Per 12 settimane si sfideranno su alcune delle piste più affascinanti di sempre :



La formula del champ è semplice, un'auto a ruote scoperte con gomme stradali e con pochissime regolazioni possibili (pressione delle gomme, precarico molle anteriori, barra antirollio posteriore e carburante).
Il pilota qui fà la differenza e visto il gran numero di partecipanti le batterie raggruppano piloti vicinissimi nelle loro prestazioni e non è difficile trovare 24 auto a fine gara entro i 30 secondi trà il primo e l'ultimo. Dal primo giro all'ultimo si susseguono duelli a 2, 3 se non 4 piloti con sorpassi ad ogni curva.
Uno spettacolo, un divertimento ma sopratutto una scuola imbattibile per imparare a stare in pista vicinissimi agli altri, imparare a guidare su tutte le traiettorie possibili e non solo su quella ottimale, imparare ad usare gli specchietti e le occhiate a destra e a sinistra!

Per me parte bene la prima settimana di gara, termino in nona posizione su 1781 partecipanti, ma la pista la conoscevo bene; La prossima invece mi aspetta Suzuka dove non ho mai girato e chissa come andrà a finire?!?
